Top-level Design and Best Practice Cases of Green and Thriving (Net-zero) Neighbourhoods
The speech will introduce the two pillar goals and ten design approaches for building Green and Thriving Neighbourhoods proposed in the C40 Global Guidebook for Green and Thriving Neighbourhoods report, as well as relevant best practice cases both in China and abroad.
The main points include:
1. Neigbourhood spaces can be the catalyst and accelerator for cities to achieve carbon neutrality.
2. For neighbourhoods to achieve sustainable development, they need to simultaneously achieve two pillar goals: "green" (net-zero carbon emissions) and "thriving" (people-oriented, resilient, and vibrant).
3. To build Green and Thriving Neighbourhoods, the following ten approaches need to be considered comprehensively: green buildings and energy, clean construction, people-centered mobility, connected places, circular resources, green and nature-based solutions, green economy, sustainable lifestyles, and a place for everyone.
