The incense side table emerged during the late Tang dynasty and the Five Dynasties period, first becoming mature in its use during the Song Dynasty. The design has adapted the traditional Chinese incense table in the form of a side table. It has embedded the incense holder into the table surface, creating a sleek sunken structure. When not in use for incense, the central incense holder on the table can be used as a vase or a storage container, striking a balance between the side table’s daily use and its incense-burning function.
