Dan Cheong

Partner, Buro Ole Scheeren

Dan Cheong is Partner at Buro Ole Scheeren and has been collaborating on the design of numerous projects with Ole Scheeren over the past decade. Cheong holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan, and a Master of Architecture with Distinction from Harvard University.

At Buro-OS, Dan Cheong collaborates on and directs the design of many of the past and ongoing projects, including Angkasa Raya, a 268-meter tall landmark building in Kuala Lumpur's city center; DUO, a large-scale mixed-use urban development in Singapore, as well as Guardian Art Center in Beijing, and all of Buro-OS’ past and recent projects in China, among others. Previous projects with Ole Scheeren at the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) include Mahanakhon, The Interlace, The Scotts Tower, the Beijing Books Building, as well as the design of exhibitions such as ‘CCTV TVCC by OMA’ at the Courtyard Gallery in Beijing, and ‘OMA in Beijing’ at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Prior to his collaboration with Buro Ole Scheeren, Dan Cheong worked as a designer at OMA in Beijing, and more previously at Hanrahan Meyers Architects in New York City, where he had been the project architect for the Holley Residence, a large single-family residence in upstate New York; for the Pratt Design Center, a contemporary addition between two existing educational buildings in the campus of Pratt Institute, Brooklyn; and a number of residential and commercial interior projects in New York City.
