Di Zhang

China
Graduated with Postgraduate-diploma in Architecture from the Bartlett UCL in 2007 and gained Bachelor in Architecture from University of Sheffield in 2004. She is an ARB Registered Architect in the UK as well as a Chartered Architect of RIBA. Starting her career in London she gaining experience at Foster +Partners (London) (2007-2010). In 2010, she founded waa in Beijing running in collaboration with Jack Young (ARB/RIBA). The practice has been commended in a number of awards such as the WAF, AREA emerging architecture award and AIA Shanghai I Beijing Architecture Award. Di Zhang was shortlisted for AR Moira Gemmill Prize for Emerging Architecture in 2016 which celebrates women in the field of design. She has also been included in a number of publications such as the book “Breaking Ground- Architecture by Women” by Jane Hall on Phaidon and “New Chinese Architecture” by Austin Williams. She was appointed as RIBA International Awards Local Ambassador in 2021.
