In 1978, she was admitted to the Department of Architecture of Tsinghua University, and after graduation, she studied and worked in Japan for seven years.
After returning to China, she stayed in the university as a teacher and devoted herself to the research on the refinement and standardization of residential design, as well as the research on the architectural design of the elderly and the disabled for a long time.

She has participated in the compilation and evaluation of many national residential and elderly building codes and standards, presided over a number of national and governmental scientific research projects and Natural Science Foundation projects, presided over the design, consulting, research and development of more than a hundred practical projects for the elderly and the elderly, and has published more than 20 related books.

She is currently a professor at the School of Architecture, Tsinghua University, where she teaches one postgraduate theoretical course (course name: Residential Refinement Design), two online courses (MOOC) (course names: Elderly Residential Space and Environment Design, Residential Refinement Design), and one undergraduate design course (course name: Settlement Planning and Residential Design).
