SONG Zhaoqing, Founder and Chief Architect at Lacime Architects, earned his master's degree in Architectural Design and Theory from the School of Architecture at Tsinghua University in 1995. His distinguished professional affiliations include a directorship and senior membership with the Architectural Society of China, as well as an executive directorship with both the Architectural Society of Shanghai and the Shanghai Exploration & Design Trade Association. Recognized internationally, SONG holds the esteemed title of Royal Chartered Architect, conferred by the Royal Institute of British Architects, and is an active international member of the American Institute of Architects. His contributions to the field have been honored with the prestigious Gold Medal from the ARCASIA awards for Architecture. In 2018, the Architectural Society of Shanghai honored him with the title of Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Architect. In 2019, AD magazine once again selected Mr. Song as one of the top 100 outstanding designers of the year. That same year, he was invited to serve as a judge for the A&D TROPHY AWARDS 2019 in the architecture category, hosted by the magazine "PERSPECTIVE."In 2020, he was invited by World Architecture News to serve as a judge for the WAN Awards. From 2020 to 2022, he was continuously invited to be a judge for the ICONIC AWARDS·INNOVATIVE ARCHITECTURE, hosted by the German Design Council, becoming the first and only Asian judge for the award.
