From 26th to 28th September, the first Sustainable Design China Summit took place in Beijing. The event is an evolution of Design China Beijing, the design industry event, created by the Design Shanghai team. Over the course of 3 days, more than 70 industry pioneers delivered nearly 40 exciting speeches and panel discussions, attracting more than 2,500 trade visitors from over 400 industry-related companies. The event has witnessed visitors from 390-plus architecture and interior design firms, over 40 real estate planning institutes, 30-plus certified consulting firms, and over 30 property developers. Speakers at the Summit came from leading global architectural firms including Woods Bagot, Snøhetta, Stefano Boeri Architetti, B.L.U.E., Penda China, China Academy of Building Research, Cuningham, Arup, renowned property developers Shui On Xintiandi, Archina, SURBANA JURONG (SJ), Swire Properties, Hongkong Land, China Jinmao, Cushman & Wakefield, and Gemdale. The event focused on the long-term sustainability of the design industry in relation to policy, culture, technology, ecology and business, and created a buzz of sustainable discussion.
